GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

An employee in this position performs complex skilled clerical work and is responsible for the overall coordination of Town functions, meetings, and minutes. Work is performed under the supervision of the Town Manager.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects, and some light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 ponds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires reaching, fingering, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse indoor environmental conditions.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school or a G.E.D. equivalent. Required to maintain Notary Public certification at all times.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Thorough knowledge of the functions and organization of municipal governments
  • Thorough knowledge of the rules of order as related to public hearings
  • Thorough knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, and equipment
  • Ability to research & prepare reports
  • Ability to establish & maintain a working relationships with Town officials, co-workers, taxpayers, and the general public
